The unique system of French Premium rewards for owners and breeders of racehorses in France, in addition to the extremely attractive prize money, is the envy of breeders and owners everywhere. Now you can enjoy those benefits by having your mares breed in France or you can buy shares in mares that we have on offer. Why France?

Firstly, with the current high value of Sterling versus the €uro (and likely to remain high for the foreseeable future), French horses, training facilities and stud farms have never been such good value. Owners and breeders get a free pass-card which entitles them to free entry at any French racetrack on any day (regardless of whether they have a runner or not!). Going racing in France is a truly cheap and enjoyable experience. Finally and the best reason of all - the prize money; French Racing still enjoys one of the highest prize money environments in the world. Prize money is normally paid down to fifth or sixth place. In addition to this prize money, owners and breeders of French bred horses qualify for an extra payment known as "Premiums" or "Primes".

 

Owners Premiums (on ALL Flat prize money in races not restricted to French breds):

  • 75% - two year olds
  • 63% - three year olds
  • 48% - four year olds and upwards
        (Note: Listed and Group 3 races pay an additional 10%)

Breeders Premiums

Flat Racing

  • Races reserved for French breds - 19%
  • Open races - 14% of prizemoney AND Owners' Premiums

For Flat races outside France, breeders premiums are 10% for horses placed 1st and 2nd in Group 1 races, and placed 1st in all other races, subject to a limit of €15,000 per horse in any one year.

National Hunt
  • All races - 15% of all prizemoney for all places.

Outside France, 15% is paid for all winners subject to an annual limit of €46,000 per horse.

BREEDERS PREMIUMS

BREEDERS PREMIUMS FOR HORSES BORN AND BRED IN FRANCE, OR ASSIMILATED

The premium is a % of the purse paid to the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and possilby 5th or 6th, given to the breeders of horses  born and bred in France or assimilated under the rules of racing in France.

Group races 19% on all prize money (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th)
Other flat races 14% on all prize money AND owners premiums (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th)
Jump racing 15% on all prize money (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th)
Flat and jump races abroad 10% on prize money (flat) (1st only) Limited to €15,000 per year per horse
  15% on prize money (jumps) (all prizemoney) Limited to €46,000 per year per horse

By top international sire NASHWAN, out of a winning mare by SHAREEF DANCER. Her first produce, a filly by HERNANDO named SAMANDO, was a WINNER of Group 2 and Group 3 races in France at three and four; she has a WINNING colt by TREMPOLINO in training in France and her 2003 GENEROUS filly is in training in Germany and is also Group 3 placed.  Not in foal 2006.
